Live in or Out, Butler, Washington DC, circa $120,000 gpa depending on experience

A lovely family relocating to Washington DC is seeking a dedicated and committed Butler/Houseman to join their household. This role combines aspects of household management with hands-on service, including meal preparation, light housekeeping, and event support. We are looking to hear from candidates who have private household and/or 5* hotel experience and who are looking for a long term role in a family setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the smooth running of the household, ensuring daily operations are well-managed.

Prepare and serve daily family-style meals.

Provide formal service during events and dinner parties.

Manage household inventories, supplies, and grocery shopping.

Coordinate with contractors, service providers, and other staff as needed.

Maintain cleanliness and organization in shared household areas.

Handle light maintenance tasks or oversee specialist services.

Ideal Candidate:

Previous experience in private households or similar roles.

Strong culinary skills, comfortable with family-style and formal service.

Professional, adaptable, and service-oriented.

Detail-focused, organized, and proactive.

Discreet, trustworthy, and respectful of privacy.

A valid driver’s licence.

Days/Hours: 5 days a week, 9hrs a day

Salary: circa $120,000 gpa depending on experience
